Peje is a not so small city in Kosovo, but let me tell you it’s a place that the Lord can and will move, when the time is right.
My team and I were able to come along side of a church and partner with them…But first let me tell you how it all happened. We were sitting in the capital of Kosovo not knowing where we needed to go. We exhausted all ends(or so we thought) in finding lodging, ministry opportunities, and everything in-between…
It was about 3:30pm and I went on a site that the Worldrace has for racers to figure out some info for where they are…anyway I said something about it and we all started to look and we found a christian coffee/pastry shop. Needless to say the team lead and another team member ran to the shop to talk to the owner. In all the madness of getting the owners information, we found a contact in Peje that would allow us to stay at a guesthouse. We were blessed with that place. It had everything we needed and more.
Part of our stay there in Peje, had us working for some of the elders in the church. One of them had a goat farm and the other had some house/shop projects that we could help with. We were able to help one of the elders with his goat farm. We were able to clean up all the winter poop/hay that was left in the stall. What would have taken that man more than week of labor, took the team and I only a few short hours. In that same day we were able to go to anther elder of the churches house and help with some “heavy lifting” projects. We moved firewood, restock the wood and move dirt to raise a driveway. And at a later date 2 of us were able to go back and do some machine shop work for this man. Helped him with a project that he was doing for some local people. Oh and both of these men were dedicated men of God. They have had some wild adventures for the kingdom from smuggling bibles back in the 90’s-00’s, to giving up everything and moving, and giving all the glory to God.
Peje was such a sweet place to be with endless opportunities that never seemed to cease. God was always providing places and people for the team to interact with on a daily basis.
We are now in Georgia and about to set out on a 234 mile walk from one end of the country to the other. Can’t wait for the Lord to give us some sweet opportunities along this way.
